Are Cobb County Schools at risk of experiencing a division of leadership not too dissimilar to what we see on the national level?
Expectations across many segments of Cobb’s communities are high that the decisions of our school boards in partnership with Cobb’s Commission and Chamber will move us ahead of the curve on taxes, teacher pay, and a quality education. The first meeting of the CCSD school board to elect its chair has shown that the divisions along party lines we see at the national level may be the disease that is displaying symptoms on Glover Street.
When looking at the board from a different lens, race and age are also factors that need to be respected and managed by the board. Hopefully they can accomplish this and the education of our children especially in South Cobb, will not be collateral damage in the process.
