UPDATED: Texas Shooting a Copycat of Earlier Mass Shootings?

Do you feel the recent shooting in Texas is a copycat of others happening throughout the country? Tell us why or why not.

Last week, Patch asked if you thought– one at a movie theatre in Colorado on July 20 and another at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin on Aug. 5– which left a total of 19 dead and 61 injured.

Now, three are dead after a gunman opened fire in a residential area near the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, TX on Monday. The three people killed include the gunman, a civilian and an officer.

Bryan (a community near College Station) Police Officer Jon Agnew said, "We feel the community is safe right now."

Two nearby police officers responded to the university's notification of an "active shooter" and found Bachmann down in the front yard of a home. After Caffall allegedly shot at the officers in his home, they shot him and he died as a result.

The third victim, a civilian, was identified as 43-year-old Chris Northcliff of College Station.
