Stone Mountain Village opens entertainment district (thechampionnewspaper.com) — Stone Mountain has officially launched a new downtown entertainment district where visitors can carry alcoholic drinks in approved cups between participating businesses from 11 a.m. to midnight daily. City leaders say the move is designed to boost Stone Mountain Village's restaurants, music venues, and pedestrian traffic, positioning the area as a bigger draw for metro Atlanta day-trippers while supporting longtime local owners like The Sweet Potato.
   

2. Isaias recovery: Federal aid approved as 20K remain without power in GA (fox5atlanta.com) — Stone Mountain neighborhoods are clearing downed trees and repairing snapped power lines after Isaias, with contract crews working along Valley Creek Drive and some residents still without electricity. Federal emergency aid has been approved for Georgia, including DeKalb County, as utilities race to restore power to about 20,000 customers statewide and officials continue assessing storm damage.
   

3. Georgia Man Going to Prison for Scamming Victims (minorityreporter.net) — A Stone Mountain resident has been sentenced to nearly three years in federal prison for his role in multiple online romance and payment scams that targeted victims around the country.
