Zion-Carroll; Lady Cats fall at Hiram (bartowsportszone.com) — Trion softball fans will want to note that Woodland's Lady Cats are set to host Trion on Wednesday at 5:55 p.m. after a tough 5-3 loss at Hiram. The article also recaps Adairsville's strong 8-1 road win over Mt. Zion-Carroll and outlines several other Region 7 matchups this week. 
• Ringgold discusses ways to potentially mitigate future flooding (wdef.com) — A state senator who once served as mayor of Trion is drawing on that town's experience with stormwater problems as Ringgold leaders confront repeated flooding and consider costly drainage upgrades. Officials say completely overhauling Ringgold's aging, piecemeal system could take years and more than a million dollars, so they're also exploring short-term steps to better protect homes and businesses.
