A 23 year old man who died while in custody at Gwinnett County Jail ate at least twice while he was there, the sheriff's office said. That announcement, which the sheriff's office made on social media, comes as a response to speculation by the family of Christopher Howard that a medical condition he suffered may have been triggered after he was denied food.>>>Read more.

A D0uglas County judge handed down hefty sentences Monday to two people involved in disrupting an 8-year-old black child's birthday party by waving Confederate flags, hurling racial slurs and threatening gun violence. Superior Court Judge William McClain sentenced Jose Ismael Torres, 26, to 20 years, with 13 to be served in prison, and Kayla Rae Norton, 25, to 15 years with six years to serve.
