• Powder Springs Opens Fall 2026 Neighborhood Beautification Grant Applications (cobbcountycourier.com) — Powder Springs is now taking applications for its Fall 2026 Neighborhood Beautification Grants, offering $500 to $4,000 for exterior improvements in neighborhoods inside city limits. Eligible HOAs and neighborhood groups must provide a 100% match, can use volunteer labor or donated materials, and must apply online by Sept. 30 for projects finished by April 1, 2027.
   

• 47 New Business Licenses Recorded in Cobb County (cobbcountycourier.com) — Cobb County has issued 47 new business licenses, including several tied to Powder Springs addresses such as a delivery service on Sullivan Point and a martial arts instruction business on Caley Mill Lane. The list spans beauty, health care, logistics, legal services and more, giving residents a snapshot of new services and companies operating in unincorporated areas around the city.
   

• 4-star small forward Asa Montgomery sets date for Duke official visit (usatoday.com) — A standout small forward from Powder Springs, Asa Montgomery, has scheduled an official visit to Duke on October 2 as part of a busy fall recruiting tour. The 6-foot-7, 4-star prospect is ranked No. 28 nationally for 2027 and will also visit LSU, Florida, UConn, Providence, North Carolina, Arizona and Louisville, drawing national attention to local basketball talent.
