AI use and student enrollments increase at Kulia Academy after relaying on donors for programs (kitv.com) — Honolulu's Kulia Academy is rapidly growing as it offers what it calls the nation's first seven-year artificial intelligence and data science program for middle schoolers, with enrollment jumping from 153 to 271 students. The charter school, which still relies heavily on private donations, is teaching sixth- to eighth-graders real-world coding and data skills while planning to expand into ninth grade.
   

2. Happy Days Restaurant starts cleanup after roof collapse in kitchen (khon2.com) — Cleanup is finally underway at Kaimukī's Happy Days Chinese Seafood Restaurant after an August roof collapse left spoiled food trapped inside and bothering nearby Honolulu neighbors. With the Department of Planning and Permitting now allowing limited access, professional crews are clearing the kitchen and expect to finish removing food by Oct. 2, easing odor and pest concerns for surrounding residents and businesses.
   

3. What to Do After a Vehicle Crashes Into a Building in Honolulu (news-usa.today) — A recent crash at the Waialae-Kahala Post Office on Pahoa Avenue sent a car through a wall and into parked vehicles, but fortunately no one in Honolulu was hurt. The article explains the ongoing HPD investigation, highlights similar East Honolulu building strikes, and outlines senior driving rules and storefront safety measures that could better protect local pedestrians and businesses.
   

4. NBA returns to Hawaii as Clippers, Warriors train on Oahu (hawaiinewsnow.com) — NBA fans on Oahu can watch the Clippers and Warriors open training camps at UH Mānoa and BYU–Hawaii before facing off in Honolulu this Sunday.
