Emergency crews responded, a suspect was reportedly arrested, and residents are urged to avoid the area so first responders can work safely while investigators determine what led up to the violence.
   

4. New deputy sheriffs join Hawaii Department of Law Enforcement (khon2.com) — Newly graduated deputy sheriffs will soon be protecting Honolulu's Daniel K. Inouye International Airport and state courthouses, boosting law enforcement presence in the city. The 18 deputies completed six months of intensive training, including a father-son duo who went through the program together. Some classmates will also be stationed in Hilo, Kona and Maui, strengthening coverage statewide.
   

5. Rainbow Wahine sweep series with New Mexico, starts conference run, 2-0 (hawaiinewsnow.com) — Honolulu fans saw the Rainbow Wahine complete a sweep of New Mexico at Stan Sheriff Center, starting their Mountain West run at 2-0. Outside hitter Panna Ratkai led with 15 kills, while Cha'lei Reid added 10 in a strong return. The team now heads on the road to face Grand Canyon next.
