Woman Pleads Guilty But Mentally Ill To Killing Boyfriend's Parents
Arin Fox could now face between 40 and 60 years in prison.

ALGONQUIN, IL — A 42-year-old Algonquin woman accused of murdering her boyfriend's parents in November 2020 has pleaded guilty but mentally ill to first-degree murder.
Arin Fox is now set to be sentenced on Dec. 6. She could face between 40 to 60 years in prison and will be required to service all of her sentence, according to a news release from the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office.
Fox killed Noreen S. Gilard, 69, and Leonard J. Gilard, 73, inside their home in the 600 block of Red Coach Lane in Algonquin in November 2020, authorities said. Fox was living at their home at the time of their deaths.

Following the fatal stabbings, Fox drove to Colorado in a car owned by the couple and checked herself into a psychiatric facility, prosecutors said. She was later arrested in Colorado and returned to McHenry County to face charges.
