Windy City ThunderBolts Plan Crazy Fun Memorial Day Weekend

CRESTWOOD, IL — All kinds of crazy fun is planned at the old ballpark Memorial Day weekend, including drink specials, giveaways, Star Wars characters, mega post game fireworks and entertaining reptile shows as the Windy City ThunderBolts’ homestand continues at Ozinga Field, 14011 S. Kenton Ave., Crestwood.

Any veteran or active military member can score two FREE tickets to Sunday’s game on May 28. Just walk up to the ballpark box office of any Wednesday or Sunday home game and show your military ID, presented by SecureOne Security Services - Illinois.

Thursday, May 25 – The Bolts face the Gateway Grizzlies from downstate Sauget, Ill., starting at 6:35 p.m. The first 500 fans age 21 up will get a free pint glass courtesy of Lakeshore Beverage. Thursday also marks the return of postgame professional wrestling featuring the Windy City Sliders. The Bolts will wear special “Sliders” team jerseys which will be auctioned off with ALL proceeds going to White Castle’s Castle Shares charity. Fans can bid on these jerseys from June 1 through Aug. 31.

Friday, May 26, 6:35 p.m. – The Florence Ya’lls breeze in from St. Louis for a three-game series against the Bolts. Get two upper level seats, 2 hot dogs and 2 beers/sodas/waters for JUST $23. The Friday night deal is available online only, and MUST be purchased before the date of the game, from the ThunderBolts’ Internet Ticket Center. Once you come to the "Confirm" page while purchasing tickets, type in the word COMBO and click APPLY PROMOTIONS to take advantage of this spectacular Friday night deal.

Saturday, May 27, 6:05 p.m. – It will be Star Wars, nothing but Star Wars, as the Bolts homestand continues with the Ya’lls. Come dressed as your favorite Star Wars character, take part in the Chewbacca Roar Contest, and enjoy Star Wars' characters, themes, sights & sounds! Proceeds from ticket sales will be going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The night finishes off with Bolts’ famous postgame fireworks show. Kiddos can run the bases after every home game.
Sunday, May 28, 1:05 p.m. –The series with the Ya’lls concludes with an afternoon matinee and the return of “Family Sunday.” For JUST $43, families will receive 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 chips, 4 sodas, 4 ice cream cups AND 4 souvenirs! (foam finger, hat, thunderbolts crown, softy ball and thunderstick). Families will be able to enjoy face painting from Marvelous Faces and a fantastic in-game live animal presentation from Animals for Awareness, Dave DiNaso's Traveling World of Reptiles, and Big Run Wolf Ranch. After the game all fans are allowed on the field to run the bases, play catch in the outfield and get autographs from your favorite ThunderBolts!
