• Aurora Festival Attack Case Sends Calvin Jones to Court After Prosecutors Say He Punched Four People and Spit on a Police Officer at Moon Festival (chicagomusicguide.com) — A 30-year-old Aurora man faces multiple felony battery charges after prosecutors say he randomly punched four people at the Moon Festival at Pacifica Square and later spat in a police officer's face. Officers arrested him near Fox Valley Center Drive, and he's due back in DuPage County court Oct. 13 while still on pretrial release in a separate burglary case.
   

• Rep. Bill Foster tours Aurora defense manufacturer (thevoice.us) — An Aurora manufacturer, Aurora Defense Group on Hankes Avenue, recently hosted Congressman Bill Foster for a shop-floor tour and policy discussion about helping small defense suppliers grow. Leaders highlighted how HUBZone incentives, federal contracting rules, and rising costs affect jobs and investment in underserved Aurora neighborhoods and the company's plans to expand responsibly.
   

• Naperville Police Arrests for Sept. 15-17 (chicagotribune.com) — Several Aurora residents were recently arrested in nearby Naperville, including on traffic, retail theft, and DUI-related license charges, with one stop occurring at Aurora Avenue and Fort Hill Drive. While the incidents happened in Naperville, they involve Aurora residents and may interest locals who travel or shop there regularly.
