Shooting Victim's Mom Asked To Remove Aurora Strong Flag
A North Carolina homeowners association has asked the woman to remove her Aurora Strong flag.

AURORA, IL — After Clayton Parks was killed in the Feb. 15 shooting at Henry Pratt Manufacturing, his mother, Leslie Kendra, like many people, displayed an Aurora Strong flag outside of her home. Kendra, who lives in North Carolina, was recently asked by her homeowner's association to take down the flag, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Her son, Clayton, 32, was in the room on Feb. 15 when a gunman opened fire, killing Parks and four others and injuring multiple police officers. Parks, who was remembered as a "fierce protector," left behind a wife and a 10-month old son. His friends and family remembered him
Kendra installed a flagpole and hoisted the Aurora Strong flag high outside of her home in the aftermath.

Kendra told the Tribune she was first told to remove the 20-foot high flagpole and then fined. She said the fines were later dropped, but that she has been told the flagpole must be no taller than 15 feet and must be in a different part of her yard, and can only be displayed each year on Feb. 15, the anniversary of the shooting.
The Aurora Strong campaign was launched after the shooting and became a rallying cry for the city, with T-shirts, flags, and hashtags quickly gaining in popularity.
