A 1990s bar crawl, floating water park opening and Chicago Pride events highlight this weekend in Chicagoland.

CHICAGO, IL - It’s another fine weekend of fun planned in Chicago and its suburbs. The Chicago Pride Parade has become one of the city’s largest yearly events. Sports, classical music and a floating water park round out the fun that’s on tap for the final weekend of June. Here’s a look at the fun we found for you.

'Whoah Zone' Opens Offshore In Northwest Indiana

  • A floating water park in Lake Michigan opens this weekend about 15 miles south of Chicago at Whihala Beach in Whiting, Indiana. The Whoah Zone is a 1-acre aquatic sports park featuring slides, jumping platforms, bridges, monkey bars and more about 100 feet offshore in waters. Looking for more fun in Northwest Indiana? Classical Music Concert Rescheduled In Oak Park

  • Classical music will be easy on the ears Sunday morning in Oak Park. Guests are invited to join Romanian virtuoso violinist Daniela Bisenius and keyboardist Don Stille to hear works by jazz and classical masters including Django Reinhardt, Oscar Peterson, Chick Coreea and Astor Piazolla at the Open Door Theater at 902 S. Ridgeland Ave. in Oak Park. at 10:30 a.m. Note: This event was originally scheduled for June 18, but postponed to June 25. Tickets for last week’s scheduled event will be valid on Sunday.

NHL Draft And Fan Fest Come To United Center

  • The NHL Draft comes to Chicago for the first time and the NHL and Chicago Blackhawks are working together to present an NHL Draft Fan Fest at the United Center on Friday. The NHL Draft Fan Fest will take place outside the United Center on Friday, June 23 and Saturday, June 24 as a part of the NHL Draft festivities. Interactive games, photo opportunities with Blackhawks players and alumni, music and a special appearance by the NHL Centennial Fan Arena are all part of the festivities. Neon Trees, best known for their singles “Everybody Talks” and “Animal,” will headline the musical entertainment portion of the event held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the United Center Parking Lot C. Among the festivities will be an opportunity for fans to ride a virtual zamboni.

  • Swedish Days in Geneva: Geneva's premiere summer festival is underway and will continue through the weekend. The festival will bring music, food, drink, carnival rides, a parade, kid-friendly events and much more to downtown Geneva. Bar Crawl With Kel Will Bring The 90s Back To Wicker Park

  • A ‘Totally 90s’ Bar Crawl is planned with several pub stops in Wicker Park on Saturday. It will carry a 1990s-theme and will be hosted by Kel Mitchell of “All That” and “Good Burger” fame.

Pride Events To Bring Thousands To Chicago

  • Chicago Pride Events: The famed Chicago Pride Parade returns to the city’s North Side on Sunday. A day earlier, Navy Pier will host their second annual Pier Pride event with several Pride activities planned along the lakefront. Organizers say it is the largest Pride celebration in the city outside of the Lakeview neighborhood.

'Chicago For Chicagoans' Tour Stops In McKinley Park

  • Residents of the city’s South Side who want to learn more about where they live will be introduced to the “Chicago for Chicagoans” tour. It’s a series of walking tours that started in city neighborhoods last year and focuses on off the beaten path attractions and hard-to-find information about the neighborhoods. The tour will conduct its first events on the South Side on Saturday and Sunday in McKinley Park.

Evanston Art Fair Returns With New Name

  • The 38th edition of the North Shore's oldest juried art fair takes place in Evanston this weekend. What has been known as the Fountain Square Art Festival for the past 37 years has rebranded itself as the "Evanston Chamber Artisan SummerFest" for this year's edition, taking place at Church Street and Sherman Avenue from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

UIC To Host Regional For 'The Breakthrough Series'

  • The Breakthrough Series’ Regional event will be held at Curtis Granderson Stadium at UIC on Friday and Saturday. It’s a joint effort on behalf of USA Baseball and Major League Baseball that “focuses on developing the player on and off the field through seminars, mentorship, gameplay, scout evaluations, video coverage, and the highest level of instruction all while providing a platform for the players to perform for scouts and collegiate coaches,” according to USA Baseball. Several baseball legends, including Ken Griffey Jr., Dave Winfield and former Chicago White Sox Manager Jerry Manuel, will be in town for the event.
