Mom Made Up Story About Missing Girl: Police
The 38-year-old Crystal Lake mom now face a disorderly conduct charge in connection with the Wednesday incident.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A Crystal Lake mother faces a disorderly conduct charge after she told police her 3-year-old daughter was missing Wednesday. The girl was found safe and with an acquaintance of the mom about two hours later, police said.
Lisa Shader has been charged with a disorderly conduct/filing a false police report in connection with the incident.

The Department of Children and Family Services recommended the child be turned over to her father and the girl is now staying with him, according to a Crystal Lake Police Department press release.
Shader initially reported her daughter, Ivy, missing at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, police said. She told Crystal Lake police the 3-year-old girl was last seen near Berkshire Drive and Somerset Lane around noon.

After receiving the report, police launched an investigation and shared information about the missing girl with the media.
During the course of the investigation, officers learned she was not missing. Officers found the child at a separate Crystal Lake home with an acquaintance of the mom.
Police alerted the media just before 2:40 p.m. that the girl was found safe and unharmed.
“Crystal Lake Police are thankful for all the assistance provided by other public safety groups as well as from the community,” according to a news release sent early Wednesday evening.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
