NY Man Had Sex With Crystal Lake Minor: Police

Andrew Wiese faces charges for traveling to Crystal Lake to have sex with a girl he knew was under 18 years old, according to authorities.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL —A 30-year-old New York man accused of traveling to Crystal Lake to have sex with a minor now faces sex abuse charges. Andrew Wiese, of Patterson, New York, is charged with aggravated sex abuse and traveling to have sex with a minor for engaging in sexual intercourse with a girl, who he knew was between the ages of 13 and 17 years old, on Aug. 28 in Crystal Lake, according to a criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court last month.

Two possession of child pornography charges have also been filed against Wiese after authorities located two cell phone videos that show a child, that Wiese knew was under 18 years old, masturbating on his phone, according to the criminal complaint.

Wiese was arrested by the Crystal Lake Police Department on Aug. 29. His bail was set at $25,000, and was released after posting his bond on Aug. 31, according to sheriff's office officials.

He is next expected in court in McHenry County on Friday, according to online court records.
