Crystal Lake Elementary School District 47 has agreed to pay a $115,000 settlement in a federal lawsuit brought by a family alleging racial bullying and civil rights violations.

Roads Reopen As River Recedes
The Fox River is finally beginning to recede after several days over flood stage as roadways, which became inundated by floodwaters, also start to reopen.
A flood warning will remain in effect for the Fox River from Johnsburg downstream to Red Gate Road in St. Charles through 1 a.m. on May 5, according to the National Weather Service. As of 8:30 a.m. Thursday, the river was at 11.1 feet, which is the 9.5-foot flood stage.
