46 Coronavirus Cases Confirmed At Willowbrook Nursing Home

WILLOWBROOK, IL — Less than a week after the first case of the new coronavirus was confirmed at Chateau Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Willowbrook, a total of 46 cases have been confirmed at the long-term care facility, according to WGN. This includes 33 residents and 13 employees.

According to Governor J.B. Pritzker, the first patient at Chateau Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was confirmed to have coronavirus on Saturday. On Tuesday, Pritzker announced that the confirmed cases at the nursing home had jumped to 22 people, including 18 residents and four employees.

The affected patients have been isolated at a hospital or in a separate wing of the care facility, Illinois Department of Public Health Director Ngozi Ezike said Tuesday. Affected employees have been furloughed home.

As fears over coronavirus lead to restaurant closures and increased social distancing, the DuPage County Courthouse has suspended all criminal and civil cases through April 17. Weddings and civil ceremonies have been rescheduled through April 24.
