DGS Swim and Dive Defeat Lake Park

DGS VS. Lake Park

The Lady Mustang Swim and Dive Team continued their dual meet winning streak of 2015 with
an impressive victory against Lake Park. Led by senior swimmers Alyssa Reinholz, Beth Vetter and Paige
Vondrasek as well as senior divers Klaire Carlquist and Jamie Vacek, the Lady Mustangs never trailed in a
dominating performance. Varsity divers Carlquist, Vacek, Maddie Puccillo, and Giana Fallara and
Frosh/Soph divers Karoline Monaco, Megan Holley, and Alyssa Deplaris got the team off to a fast start
sweeping the diving events. Next, the Varsity 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Reinholz, Annie Leinart,
Melanie Scheiblein, and Vondrasek secured a victory for the mustangs. The Frosh/Soph Medley Relay of
Mackenzie Johnson, Kate Stanley, Sophia Duax, and Samantha Vallo as well as the team of Gianna
Lukasik, Kayla Martinez, Tavish Kerr, and Dorothy Pesci placed first and second respectively. Vetter won
the 200 yard freestyle at the Varsity level and Martinez and Stanley finished first and second at the
Frosh/Soph level. In the 200 Yard Individual Medley, Annie Leinart, Makaila Scheiblein, and Allie Puccillo
took the top three places at the Varsity level while Johnson and Sophia Duax took the top two positions
for the Frosh/Soph team.

Melanie Scheiblein, Jorie Selig, and Jillian Scott secured the top three positions in the 100 yard
butterfly. Frosh/Soph swimmers Kerr and Sophia Duax finished first and second respectively. In the 500
yard freestyle, the Mustang swimmers dominated the event with Varsity swimmers Vetter, Annie Leinart,
Kaitlyn Hopp and Emma Sayre sweeping the top four places. Then, the Mustang 200 Yard Freestyle
Relay team of Vondrasek, Allie Puccillo, Anna Bogdanski and Makaila Scheiblein finished first while the
team of Sayre, Scott, Annie Leinart, and Vetter finished second. The Frosh/Soph relay of Vallo, Katie
Leinart, Stanley and Martinez also swam their way to victory. In the last individual event of the night, the
Mustangs continued their dominance with Makaila Scheiblein, Melanie Scheiblein, Allie Puccillo, and
Savannah Duax securing the top four places in the 100 yard breaststroke. To cap a great night of
swimming, the Varsity 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Reinholz, Selig, Melanie Scheiblein, and Makaila
Scheiblein and the Frosh/Soph team of Sophia Duax, Katie Leinart, Kerr, and Johnson both swam their
way to victory.

With this impressive performance under their belts, the Lady Mustangs are looking forward to
their next test against Benet Academy.
