
The Downers Grove South Swim and Dive team had a great day of swimming finishing second at the Mustang Invitational on October 1. The meet got off to a great start with the 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Alyssa Reinholz, Makaila Scheiblein, Melanie Scheiblein, and Jorie Selig securing victory. Mustang swimmers Beth Vetter, Emma Sayre, and Anna Bogdanski swam their way onto the podium with fourth, fifth and sixth place finishes in the 200 Yard Freestyle. Next up, Annie Leinart placed fifth in the 200 Yard Individual Medley. In the 50 Yard Freestyle, Alyssa Reinholz and Jorie Selig took the top two places, while Bella DiDana won the event for AWD. Reinholz continued her dominance in the freestyle events winning the 100 Yard Freestyle. She was joined on the podium by Anna Bogdanski who placed sixth in the event.
Beth Vetter and Emma Sayre also had podium finishes placing third and sixth in the 500 Yard Freestyle. Continuing their relay success from earlier in the meet, the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Makaila Scheiblein, Jorie Selig, Melanie Scheiblein and Alyssa Reinholz swam their way to victory again and the team of Anna Bogdanski, Allie Puccillo, Annie Leinart, and Paige Vondrasek placed fifth. Makaila Scheiblein and Annie Leinart placed second and fifth in the 100 Yard Breaststroke. Wrapping up a successful day of swimming, the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Anna Bogdanski, Emma Sayre, Annie Leinart, and Jorie Selig placed second and set a new Frosh/Soph Record in the event.
