The GardenWorks Project Selects Two Downers Grove Residents as Volunteers of the Year!

The GardenWorks Project Selects Two Downers Grove Residents as Volunteers of the Year!

We are extremely proud to announce our 2016 Volunteers of the Year, the mother/daughter team of Kathy Hebert and Amy Hebert of Downers Grove.

Playwright James Barrie said, "Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves." If you had the pleasure of building a garden with Kathy or Amy this year, either as a client or another volunteer, you surely felt their glow!

The Heberts were recruited for a garden build by a friend in 2015, and soon told us that they were both interested in helping more. Kathy and Amy were a huge part of our Spring and Fall 2016 garden builds, leading more builds than any other volunteer. They are always first to step up when needed, frequently check in on our past clients, and do it all with warmth and friendliness that make them both a pleasure to work with.
