Nurse's Murder-For-Hire Love Triangle Case: Judge Won't Up Bail

Prosecutors wanted bail revoked for a woman charged with paying an online company $10,000 to kill her lover's wife.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A judge in DuPage County opted not to increase bail for a 31-year-old nurse accused in a plot to kill her lover's wife in Woodridge, Daily Herald reports. Tina Jones, of Des Plaines, is charged with attempted murder and solicitation of murder for hire for allegedly paying $10,000 in cryptocurrency to hire a company to commit the planned murder.

The prosecution had sought to have Jones's bail revoked after a drug test allegedly showed "traces of opiates," according to Daily Herald. Her attorney said subsequent drug tests, including a follicle test, showed no signs of illicit substances.

The alleged murder-for-hire plot targeted a Woodridge woman who works as a social worker in Naperville. The alleged contract — reportedly found by CBS — "gave the hitman clear instructions to make sure her lover was unharmed" and to make the incident appear accidental, Daily Herald reports.
