• Young artist's 'Pursuit of Happiness' sculpture unveiled as Elgin's America 250 sculpture (dailyherald.com) — Downtown Elgin will unveil a new permanent "Pursuit of Happiness" sculpture on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 1 p.m. at South Riverside Drive and Prairie Street, created from a design by local student Nathan Adeosun. The free celebration at Side Street Studio Arts includes music from Elgin Symphony Orchestra musicians, remarks from community leaders, and a chance to see how a youth vision became part of the city's landscape.
