Emergency Late Start For Elmhurst Schools Due To Police Activity

ELMHURST, IL — A police manhunt for suspects involved in a burglary on Monday morning has delayed the start of some District 205 schools, as well as the opening of the Elmhurst Park District Wagner Community Center.

District 205 released a statement on the district website stating that due to police activity near Emerson Elementary School, roads are closed and police are in pursuit of suspects. Both Emerson and Churchville Middle School will have an emergency late start on Monday. Emerson will begin at 9:45 a.m. and Churchville at 10 a.m.

The Wagner Community Center was also delayed in opening, according to Elmhurst Park District. The community center is now scheduled to open at 12 p.m. Monday.
