ELMHURST, IL — After two weeks in session, Elmhurst's IC Catholic Prep has not had any reported coronavirus cases, the school said Thursday. It is undergoing a blend of in-person and remote learning because of the pandemic.

"Our teachers and students are getting into the swing of things and have fully implemented our Full Day Blended Learning schedule," David Terry, IC's director of communications, said in an email. "Students at-home and in-person are engaged in rigorous, college preparatory courses through group work, class discussion, online applications, and hands-on learning."

He said the high school is following county, state and federal health guidelines. It had its first in-person lessons Aug. 19.

The school takes students' temperatures before they enter the school each day. And the students must self-certify their health daily through a phone app by answering five questions.

Meanwhile, Elmhurst public school students are learning remotely — at least for the first three weeks.
