Heavy Dose of Construction in Evanston Begins Next Week
Changes to occur on Central Street, Dempster Street and at Baker Park.

Work on a trio of city improvement projects will begin next week in Evanston, causing some traffic changes and closings.
On Central Street, streetscape improvements will begin on Monday, August 17 from Lincolnwood Drive to Ewing Avenue. The project includes the replacement of a sidewalk with new concrete and a brick border in addition to installing new roadway curbing and tree frames and grates. Construction is expected to take eight weeks.

Road resurfacing work will also begin on Dempster Street on Monday from the bridge over the North Shore Channel to Ridge Avenue. The project is scheduled to be complete by the end of October.

Baker Park will also be closed - from Monday until November - as a project to bring an upgraded playground and basketball court makes way.
