• College Of DuPage To Commemorate September 11 With Remembrance Ceremony (patch.com) — Glen Ellyn residents are invited to a September 11 Remembrance Ceremony at the College of DuPage's Robert J. Miller Homeland Security Education Center, home to a World Trade Center steel beam. The early-morning event will feature remarks from college leadership and public safety program heads, along with a bagpipe-led procession and color presentation by Suburban Law Enforcement Academy recruits.
   

• Over 500 Weather the Storms at the Cook County Regional Organized Crime Task Force (CCROC) 2026 Annual Conference (losspreventionmedia.com) — A major regional crime-fighting conference just brought more than 500 law-enforcement and financial-crime specialists to the Homeland Security Training Institute in Glen Ellyn. Over two stormy days, attendees heard keynotes on global fraud and terrorism financing, dug into topics like organized retail crime and human trafficking, and raised $5,800 for K9s for Veterans while networking over training sessions and local pizza.
