Next Phases Of Streetscape, Utility Work To Kick Off In Glen Ellyn

The village plans to start the next phase of its multi-year plan in April with utility work and road closures downtown.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Now that winter has (finally) come to an end, crews are set to begin the next phase of construction on the ongoing Streetscape and Utility Improvement Project in downtown Glen Ellyn.

Much of the work on the streetscape project's first phase wrapped in late 2022. During the initial phase of this multi-year initiative the changes included planting new trees, adding accessibility features and updating underground utilities.

During the underground utility construction, road closures and detours will be in effect in parts of the downtown area.

  • Gutter maintenance

Open house events will be held April 5 to mark the start of phases two and three of the streetscape and utility project. At the open house, contractors and village officials will be on hand to field questions and explain more about the construction.
