2 Charged With Retail Theft Of Liquor From Walgreen's: Blotter

PREDATORY CRIMINAL SEXUAL ASSAULT

Bruce Claver, 57, of the 3000 block of Knollwood Lane, Glenview, is accused of predatory criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual abuse, and was arrested at 9:27 a.m. Feb. 4.   • Pawel Szymczak, 42, of the 2900 block of N. Mason Avenue, Chicago, is accused of aggravated driving under the influence, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while license revoked, improper lane usage, no insurance, and was arrested at 5:08 p.m. Feb. 5. Szymczak was taken to Skokie Courthouse for a bond hearing.
  • Keith MacDonald 59, of the 1500 block of Lehigh Avenue, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of cannabis by a driver, no registration, failure to wear a properly adjusted seatbelt, and was arrested at 3:20 p.m. Jan. 31, following a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Valley Lo Lane. He was released on a D-bond with a court date set for Feb. 28.

NO VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE

  • Ismael Olguin Lugo, 43, of the 2300 block of N. Newcastle, Chicago, is accused of no valid driver's license, no turn on red, and was arrested at 8:15 p.m. Feb. 2, following a traffic stop in the 800 block of Shermer Road. He was released on an I-bond with a court date set for Feb. 28.
  • Carlos Santana Castrejon, 49, of the 2400 block of N. Menard Avenue, Chicago, is accused of no valid driver's license, uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 5:43 p.m. Jan. 31, following traffic crash investigation in the 1600 block of Waukegan Road. He was released on an I-bond and assigned a court date of March 18.

SUSPENDED/REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE

Ennana Markai, 24, of the 7500 block of Palma Lane, Morton Grove, is accused of aggravated driving while license suspended, driving while license suspended, no insurance, following too closely, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and was arrested at 8:25 a.m. Feb. 3, following a crash investigation in the 600 block of Harms Road, Glenview. She was taken to court for a bond hearing.

RETAIL THEFT

  • Michael Ratliff, 30, of the 2300 block of W. Touhy Avenue, Chicago, is accused of retail theft, following an investigation into liquor taken from Walgreens, 2800 block of Pfingsten Road, and was arrested at 4:21 p.m. Feb. 3. He was released on a $1,000 bond and assigned a court date of Feb. 23.
  • Christopher Lawson, 35, of the 7600 block of Paulina Street, Chicago, is accused of retail theft after an investigation of liquor taken from Walgreen, 2800 block of Pfingsten Road, and was arrested at 4:21 p.m. Feb. 3. He was released on a $1,000 bond and assigned a court date of Feb. 23.

INCIDENTS

SPEEDING

A Mount Prospect resident was cited for speeding 26+ mph following a traffic stop at 8:52 a.m. Feb. 1, in the 4600 block of West Lake Avenue. They were released on an I-bond with a court date set for Feb. 28.

THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS

  • A Northbrook resident reported that at some time between 6 a.m. and 4:15 pm. Feb. 1, someone stole the catalytic converter from their vehicle while the vehicle was parked in a parking lot in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
  • A resident reported that at sometime during the overnight hours of Jan. 31, someone stole the catalytic converter from their vehicle while the vehicle was parked in the parking lot in the 1100 block of Castilian Court.

FORGERY

A Cove Lane resident reported at 11:42 a.m. Feb. 2, selling a refrigerator on a website. The buyer sent a check for payment and asked the remainder to be wired back. After sending the remaining money in the wire, the seller was notified the initial check was fraudulent and bounced in their checking account.

RETAIL THEFT

An employee of a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road called police to report at 4:38 p.m. Feb. 3, an unknown female took liquor past the last point of purchase without paying for the items. The female left the scene in a silver vehicle.

THEFT

  • A resident in the 3200 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 12:55 p.m. Feb. 4, someone stole the front registration plate from their vehicle while it was parked in the lot overnight.
  • A Covert Road resident reported at 7:29 p.m. Feb. 7, an envelope containing cash and checks was missing from a business in the 1700 block of East Lake Avenue.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

A resident in the 2700 block of Manu Court called police at 5:01 p.m. Feb. 5, to report three unknown people came to the residence, told the homeowner they were with the electrical company and needed to check the outlets. While distracting the homeowners, the three entered the home and stole personal items.

BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE

  • A Crest Hill resident reported at 7:16 p.m. Feb. 7, that personal items were stolen from inside their parked vehicle, which was parked in the 1400 block of Paddock Drive. There were several fraudulent attempts to use credit cards at a local business, all of which were declined.
  • A resident called police at 6:58 p.m. Feb. 7, to report their keys and personal items were stolen from the inside of their parked vehicle while the car was parked near a business in the 1700 block of Pickwick Lane. Multiple fraudulent attempts to use their credit cards were declined.
