GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

  • A resident in the 600 block of Echo Lane reported at 9:56 a.m. May 26 someone damaged the windshield on their vehicle during the overnight hours of May 14-15 and a bicycle was stolen from the front porch in the last two days. The reported loss is $850.
  • A resident in the 2500 block of Waterview Drive called police at 6:04 p.m. May 27 to report someone tipped over their motorcycle parked in the parking garage, damaging a fender and the handle bars. The reported loss is $5,000.

THEFT

  • A resident of Lehigh Avenue reported at 10:03 a.m. May 26 receiving an e-mail from a friend asking to purchase gift cards and send the numbers. The friend never sent the e-mail. The reported loss is $200.
  • A resident in the 4400 block of Ivy Lane called police at 6:54 a.m. May 27 to report someone entered their unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway and drove away in it. Key fobs and cash were in the vehicle and the reported loss is $17,000. The vehicle was subsequently recovered at 8:30 p.m. by the Chicago Police in the 3800 block of South Pulaski Avenue.
  • A resident in the 1700 block of East Ridgewood Lane reported at 10:26 p.m. May 27 someone stole a gift card from a package delivered by Federal Express. The reported loss is $200
  • A landscaper in the 800 block of Wagner Road called police at 5:42 p.m. May 27 to report someone took two backpack blowers off his truck while it was unattended. The reported loss is $900.
  • An employee at a business in the 2700 block of Old Willow Road reported at 3:14 p.m. May 30 someone stole items from donation boxes between May 24-29. The amount of loss is unknown.
  • A resident in the 3800 block of Cindy Lane called police at 4:45 p.m. May 31 to report someone stole an unattended bicycle from the driveway. The reported loss is $500.
  • A resident in the 40o block of East Lake Avenue reported at 5:20 p.m. May 31 someone took an unattended bicycle from in front of the residence between 2-5 p.m. The reported loss is $200.
  • An employee of a business in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road called police at 4:56 p.m. May 31 to report a cellular telephone was stolen from an unlocked locker. The reported loss is $1,100.


RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

A resident in the 4400 block of Lainie Circle called police at 6:20 a.m. May 27 to report someone entered their unlocked vehicle parked in an open garage during the overnight hours. Tools and cash were taken. The reported loss is $95.

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee of a business in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 4:29 p.m. May 26 to report someone took beauty supply items from a shelf and left the store without paying. The reported loss is $50.
  • An employee of a business in the 2800 block of Patriot Boulevard reported at 6:27 p.m. May 30 that someone stole plants from a display on the outside the store between May 16-29. The reported loss is $2,000.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS
An employee of a business in the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 4:57 p.m. to report someone on the property without permission.

An employee of a business in the 2300 block of Patriot Boulevard reported at 11:44 a.m. May 29 someone removed window moldings and entered a train car on the site.

HARASSMENT BY ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS

A Pinehurst Drive resident called police at 10:02 p.m. to report receiving unwanted texts.

CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT

A passerby in the 2600 block of West Lake Avenue reported at 4 p.m. May 30 someone painted a cartoon character inside the gazebo. The amount of loss is unknown.

BURGLARY

  • An employee of a business in the 500 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 4:28 a.m. June 1 to report someone broke the door glass on the business and stole cash from inside. The reported loss is $1,900.
  • A resident in the 250 block of Waterview Circle reported at 11 a.m. June 1 someone entered an unlocked vehicle during the overnight hours, ransacked the interior and took a dash mounted camera. The reported loss is $100.

ARRESTS

VIOLATION OF ORDER OF PROTECTION

Jason Braganza, 43, homeless, was accused at 1:30 a.m. May 30 of violating an order of protection after a complaint of yelling and was arrested in the 900 block of Long Road. He was in bond court on May 30 at the Skokie Courthouse.

NO VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE

Silverio Davila, 57, of the 6500 block of 26th Avenue in Berwyn, was accused at 1:47 p.m. May 30 of driving without a valid driver's license and failure to reduce speed, and was arrested in the 2000 block of Leigh Avenue. He was released on a $1,500 bond and assigned a court date of Aug. 10.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

  • Dominic J. Karpinski, 29, of the 500 block of Milwaukee Avenue, Wheeling, was accused at 10:03 p.m. May 27 of driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol, speeding and the use of unsafe tires and was arrested during a traffic stop in the 600 block of Central Road. He posted $3,000 bond and was given a court date of July 7.
  • Lori Koller, 43, of the 1200 block of Geneva Drive, South Barrington, was accused at 11:56 a.m. June 1 of driving under the influence of drugs, driving under the influence of drugs or a combination of drugs and driving while license revoked, and was arrested after an investigation of a vehicle stopped in the roadway in the 3300 block of Willow Road. She was released on $3,000 bond and given a court date of June 23.
