The pilot will focus on tech support interns and AI club members, with the district stressing strict data protections and acknowledging risks like overreliance on AI-generated content and math skill gaps.
   

3. Tax Hike Likely In Hinsdale District 86, Athletic Upgrades Eyed (patch.com) — Hinsdale High School District 86 is moving toward a new $79.7 million debt plan that would raise taxes about $83 next year on a median Hinsdale home, with small annual increases after that. Officials and residents are focusing heavily on long-delayed athletic, locker room, and field upgrades at Hinsdale Central and Hinsdale South, while also addressing state-designated life safety projects such as a new heating plant.
   

4. Wallet Stolen From Hinsdale Shopper; Unauthorized Charges Later Reported (patch.com) — Hinsdale police are investigating several recent incidents, including a wallet stolen from a shopper at Whole Foods on Ogden Avenue that led to unauthorized credit card charges. Officers also reported thefts of chainsaws, a bicycle, a porch package, a DUI arrest near I‑294, and a forged check, with many cases still pending.
   

5. Hinsdale South Official Endures More Criticism, Ouster Suggested (patch.com) — Parents in Hinsdale are again pressing District 86 leaders for clarity on the future of Hinsdale South High School's athletic department and its longtime director, Arthur Ostrow, after months without meaningful communication. At the latest school board meeting, families described coach departures, shrinking programs, and uncertainty that has some considering private schools, and they urged the district to say whether leadership changes are coming.
