1 Death, 6 Cases Of Coronavirus At Marley Oaks: IDPH
In Will County, IDPH is reporting there are 468 cases of coronavirus in long-term care facilities and 84 related deaths.
MOKENA, IL — Marley Oaks Assisted Living Residence, otherwise known as Marley Oaks, has six reported cases of coronavirus and one related death, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported May 1. Will County Health Department spokesman Steve Brandy told Patch the six cases include five residents and one staff member.
IDPH is now sharing the case numbers of residents and staff of long-term care facilities. The data is reported starting from the beginning of the coronavirus response on Jan. 24. Numbers are current as of May 1.
The cases included in the data include lab confirmed cases and cases meeting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention outbreak case definition. Facilities report the data to local health departments, who then report to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

"The health and well-being of our residents is always our main concern. Our goal is to provide the best care to our residents," Administrator Pam West said in a statement given to Patch."We treat them like they are one of own family members."

West said the facility has restricted visitation, sanitizing, resident isolation, monitoring and disinfecting protocols in place.
There haven't been any positive cases at the facility since early April, West said.
"With the co-morbidities that our residents have, their risk levels increase as in the case of our
one loss," West said. "We are always deeply saddened on the death of any our residents, they are part of us. Our thoughts and prayers to our family on their loss."
"I want to thank so many that has helped us during these troubling times. Of course, my staff
who went above and beyond to take care of our residents. The New Lenox Fire Department for
their rapid response," West said. "Silver Cross Hospital especially the ER, the case managers, and the team on the Covid Unit for the constant communication and the excellent care they received."
West also thanked the resident families, community and the board of directors.
The facility is located at 12631 W. 187th St. in Mokena.
In Will County, IDPH is reporting there are 468 cases of coronavirus in long-term care facilities and 84 related deaths. Symphony of Joliet remains the facility with the highest number of cases and deaths in Will County; the facility has 127 reported cases of the coronavirus and 24 related deaths.
