NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE

  • Vito Accardi, 51, of the 3900 block of Sunset Lane, Northbrook, is accused of driving while license suspended, no taillights, no insurance, expired registration, defective windshield, and was arrested at 7:49 p.m. Aug. 29 following a traffic stop in the 3100 block of Dundee Road. His bond was set at $1,500, and he was assigned a court date of Oct. 20.
  • DaQuowon Pickett-Hartgrove, 21, of the 3600 block of W Ferdinand, Chicago, is accused of driving while license suspended, improper taillight, and was arrested at 1:48 a.m. Aug. 30 following a traffic stop in the 3900 block of Dundee Road. His bond was set at $2,500, and he was assigned a court date of Oct. 23.

  • Giovanni Flores-Hernandez, 24, of the 500 block of Green Bay Road, Highwood, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, not having a valid driver's license, violating a temporary driver's license, uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol, and was arrested at 10:55 p.m. Aug. 30 during a traffic stop at Dundee Road and Oak Leaf Terrace. His bond was set at $3,000, and he was given a court date of Sept. 21.
  • Guadalupe Cisneros, 18, of the 1500 block of N Winslow Drive, Palatine, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, illegal transport of alcohol, and was arrested at 1:07 a.m. Aug. 31 following a traffic stop in the 2300 block of Greenwood Road. His bond was set at $3,000, and he was assigned a court date.

  • A resident in the 1900 block of Cherry Lane reported at 4:47 p.m. Aug. 27 that they found that U.S. currency was missing from a jewelry box.
  • A Kensington Drive resident called police at 2:06 p.m. Aug. 29 to report they received a telephone call from "Apple" stating that there was a malfunction with their computer and that they needed access to their computer to fix the issue. Complainant stated that they gave access to the computer then were told that the repairs would be $9,000 and that they needed to give a credit card number to repair the issues. Complainant gave their credit card information and later confirmed that the charge was made to their account.

FRAUD

A Wellesley Circle resident called police at 7:48 a.m. Aug. 28 to report they were contacted by an online company regarding an online job application that they filed. Complainant reported that they were sent a check for a "sign on" bonus which the complainant deposited into their account. Shortly after the check was deposited, the resident received an email asking for wire transfer payments for equipment. The complainant completed the requested transfers and then learned that the bonus check was rejected as a deposit by their bank.

RETAIL THEFT

  • A person at Whole Foods, 800 block of Willow Road, reported at 1:02 p.m Aug. 30 that a man removed approximately $300 worth of liquor from the store without paying for the items.
  • An employee at Lord & Taylor, 1400 block of Lake Cook Road, called police at 2:39 p.m. Aug. 31 to report they were alerted by a customer that three men in their 20s, were observed running out of the store with armloads of purses. The men were seen getting into a waiting vehicle then leaving the area.
  • An employee at CVS, 900 block of Willow Road, reported at 4:09 p.m. Sept. 2 that two men removed an unknown amount of over the counter medications from a shelf and placed them in a backpack and their pockets, then left the store without paying for the items.

SUSPICIOUS TELEPHONE CALLS

A Torrey Pines Parkway resident reported at 10:05 a.m. Sept. 1 they received a telephone call from a person claiming that there was an issue with their social security account. The complainant terminated the call and did not disclose any personal information.

ROBBERY

An employee at 7-Eleven, 1500 block of Shermer Road, called police at 5:34 p.m. Sept. 3 to report two men, who were both wearing face coverings, entered the store and went behind the counter. The men then pulled out the cash register drawer and removed approximately $2,000 in money, cigars, and cigarettes. No weapon was displayed or implied and both subjects then fled in a vehicle.
