NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
BURGLARY TO VEHICLE
- A resident in the 1000 block of Greenbriar Lane reported at 3:15 p.m. May 29 hearing the sound of a car door closing during the overnight hours. The resident later learned that their unlocked vehicle had been entered and several credit cards and a driver’s license had been taken from the car.
- An officer while investigating another matter at 1:13 a.m. June 2 in the 900 block of Dorset Drive observed a vehicle with the driver’s side rear door ajar. The glove box was open and its contents were spread out in the car. The owner reported that unknown people entered the unlocked vehicle and that a personal item was missing.
- A resident in the 4000 block of Phyllis Drive called police at 11:30 p.m June 1 to report that unknown people entered their unlocked vehicle and removed a laptop computer, U.S. currency, and a first aid kit.
THEFT

A resident in the 800 block of Pinto Lane called police at 4:11 a.m. May 31 to report two men exited a vehicle and entered the resident’s garage. The resident reported that they were struck in the arm and pushed by one of the men. After being pushed, the second man removed several items from the resident’s pockets and then left in the vehicle.
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT

A person reported at 8 a.m. June 1 that tagging graffiti was spray-painted on the basketball court at Greenfield Park, 2950 Harbor Lane.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE
- A resident in the 50 block of Avon Road called police at 11:19 p.m. June 1 to report they heard two loud noises outside of their home. A short time later they went out to their vehicle and found that the windshield had been broken by unknown people.
- A resident in the 4000 block of Michelline Lane reported at 2:27 p.m. June 3 reported that unknown people damaged the rear window on their parked vehicle.
- A resident in the 800 block of Bermuda Dunes Place called police at 9:28 a.m. June 4 to report that unknown people scratched their car and damaged a rear wheel during the overnight hours.
TRESPASS TO VEHICLE
- An officer on patrol at 1:11 a.m. June 2 in the 900 block of Dorset Drive observed the driver’s side door of a parked vehicle open and the interior light illuminated. The officer noticed that the glove box was open with the contents spread out in the car. It is unknown if anything was missing.
- A resident in the 4000 block of Forest Avenue reported at 8:41 a.m. June 2 that unknown people entered their unlocked vehicle. Nothing was reported missing.
IDENTITY THEFT
- A Thornwood Lane resident called police at 12:48 p.m. June 2 to report that unknown people used their information to open a cellular account without their permission.
- A Kiest Avenue resident reported that someone used their information to open a cellular account without their permission.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES
A person called police at 2:22 p.m. June 4 to report they found an empty cigarette pack burning in a dumpster in the 1000 block of Pfingsten Road.
