• Boy, 13, Charged With Hate Crime After Posting Racist Threats: Oswego Police (patch.com) — Oswego residents are learning that a 13-year-old boy has been charged with multiple felonies, including hate crime counts, after police say he posted racially threatening messages about two other local teens on social media. Authorities report the case was quickly investigated this week, with the juvenile appearing in court Friday and released pending his next hearing, while his identity remains protected because of his age.
   

• Man Threatened To Shoot Officers Before Gunshot At Oswego Home: Police (patch.com) — Oswego neighbors near Colchester Drive woke up to a heavy police presence and a shelter-in-place order after an overnight domestic disturbance escalated into threats against officers and a gunshot from inside a home. Police say a male resident was eventually taken into custody after hours of negotiation and sent for psychological evaluation, with the shelter-in-place area gradually reduced and no District 308 schools affected.
   

• Oswego Police issue shelter-in-place order after shot fired during welfare check (news-usa.today) — Oswego residents were ordered to shelter in place Friday morning after a gunshot was fired from inside a home on Colchester Drive during a welfare check, prompting a heavy police response and tight perimeter. Authorities say the shooter is believed to be alone inside, no injuries are reported, and nearby Traughber Junior High added security as the situation continues to unfold.
