Elsbeth M. Clausen, 82

Funeral service and interment for Elsbeth M. Clausen (nee Wockenfuss), 82, of Palatine since 1976, will be private.

Born March 23, 1930 in Germany, she passed away peacefully, Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Claremont of Hanover Park, surrounded by her family.

Elsbeth met her husband, the Reverend Robert H. Clausen, in Germany, while he was serving as a chaplain in the U.S. Army.  She came to the United States and they married in 1956.

Not only was Elsbeth a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she built an impressive career in the United States as a master European hairstylist and business woman.

Survivors include her children, Kara M. (Neal Clark) Clausen, Christopher (Elizabeth) Clausen and Kristen (Paul) Schmidt; grandchildren, Jonathan Schmidt, Kyra Schmidt, Nicholas Clausen and Andrew Clausen.

Elsbeth was preceded in death by her husband, the Reverend Robert H. Clausen.
