His Illinois high school success, including a state title game appearance, helped earn him national recruiting attention before he chose a prep school and committed to the Buckeyes.
   

• ECC teacher credits horror mask career to TV's Svengoolie (dailyherald.com) — An Elgin Community College professor's horror mask artwork, now showcased in a solo exhibit, traces its roots back to a ceramics class he took at Harper College in Palatine. His early zombie mask there launched a career that's led to film work, a thriving studio, and plans to finally meet TV horror host Svengoolie this October.
