Palatine Police Blotter: Window Screens Damaged at Paddock School

A generator was stolen from an unlocked, open garage in the 1100 block of South Deverell Court sometime between 7:45 p.m. and 8:44 p.m.  The generator had yellow and black handles and was valued at $500.

May 15, 2012

A 2001 silver Chevy sedan and a 2009 green Volkswagen were burglarized sometime between 2 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. May 15 in the 500 block of North Winston Drive. Both vehicles were unlocked and parked in a residential driveway. Taken were two identical GPS units valued at $350.

A 2008 Acura sedan was burglarized sometime between 2:30 and 6:30 a.m. in the 600 block of North Newkirk. The vehicle was left unlocked. Taken was a 32-gigabyte Apple iPod Touch valued at $400 and a car charger valued at $50.

Juan Jaramillo, 28, of Wheeling was charged with DUI, DUI blood-alcohol level above .08, driving without a valid driver’s license, improper lane usage, improper driving on the shoulder and felony aggravated DUI after a traffic stop in the 1500 block of North Frontage Road at 3:25 a.m.

Nine window screens were cut on the south side of Paddock School, 225 W. Washington Street, sometime between May 19 and May 20. There was no additional damage to the building or an attempted entry.

Patricia A. Gaulin, 48, of Palatine, was charged with local ordinance retail theft after taking batteries valued at $21.97 from True Value, 790 W. Euclid Ave. and leaving without paying.

Five mailboxes were damaged sometime between May 19 at 8 p.m. and May 20 at 6:46 a.m. in the 200 block of West Golfview Terrace.

Andrew Juan, 25, of Chicago, was charged with DUI, DUI blood-alcohol level above .08, driving with a revoked license, driving with one red taillight, improper lane usage, operating an uninsured mother vehicle and felony aggravated DUI after a traffic stop at Route 53 and Dundee Road at 3:30 a.m.
