Palatine Police Blotter: Suspicious Vehicle Leads to Drug Arrest

June 2, 2012

At 9:58 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 1200 block of Hidden Creek Drive that was possibly selling drugs to other vehicles that would pull up next to it. Officers located the vehicle and made a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Dundee Road. The officer could smell pot in the vehicle and a vehicle search resulted in finding a pipe, several plastic baggies containing marijuana and alcohol.

The passenger, Christian Jasso, 19, of Palatine was charged with felony unlawful possession of marijuana, felony intent to deliver and misdemeanor obstructing identification. The driver, Paige M. Hoover, 19, of Palatine was charged with misdemeanor unlawful possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol under the age of 21.

June 5, 2012

Two bikes were stolen sometime between 3:15 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. while parked outside of the Dollar Tree store, located at 649 East Dundee Road. The bikes taken were a black and red Harow model 300 with no gears, and a black and blue Mongoose trick bike with no gears.

June 6, 2012

A red Dino boys BMX bike valued at $169 was stolen from the ground floor patio at a home in the 200 block of East Constitution Drive sometime between 9 p.m. and 11:09 p.m. A lavender girls bike was left behind in the red Dino bike’s place.

June 7, 2012

An apartment in the 900 block of North Countryside Drive was burglarized sometime between June 7 at 3 p.m. and June 8 at 7 p.m. The victim had been in the process of moving apartments and left a 42-inch flat screen TV in the apartment overnight. The bedroom screen door was left open and the TV, with an unknown value, was taken.

A set of golf clubs and golf shoes valued at $3,000 were stolen from outside the storage room at Baybrook Apartments, 111 S. Baybrook Drive, sometime between 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. The victim left the clubs unattended.

June 8, 2012

Sometime between 1:55 p.m. and 2:24 p.m. a wallet was stolen from inside a purse while the victim was shopping at Eurofresh, 130 W. Northwest Highway. The wallet was valued at $200 and it contained the victim’s driver’s license, various credit cards and $50 in cash.

June 9, 2012

Min Hur, 33, of Arlington Heights, was charged with local ordinance retail theft after taking children’s clothing and a bag and leaving without paying from T.J. Maxx, 1311 N. Rand Road, sometime between 1:45 and 2 p.m. The items were valued at $82.93. 

Richard R. Weber, 61, of Rolling Meadows, was charged with DUI, BAC over .08, improper turn and failure to yield to pedestrian in the crosswalk after a traffic stop at 11:38 p.m. at Palatine and Plum Grove roads.
