The Weekender: Outdoor Concert, Art Gallery, 'Legally Blonde: The Musical'

Palatine Park District presents the 25th Anniversary Season of the Sounds of Summer Concert Series with an all-new lineup selected by our loyal audience. All performances are FREE, so pack a picnic, pull up a lawn chair, and enjoy your summer evenings at the Fred P. Hall Amphitheater, 262 E. Palatine Road. Performances begin Friday, Aug. 3 at 8 pm and run approximately 90 minutes. In the event of inclement weather, performances will be cancelled. Ronnie Rice picked up a guitar when he was 16 years old and hasn’t put it down yet! He began his musical career as a solo performer in Evanston. In the late 1960’s, Ron joined the Chicago-based group The New Colony Six and sang lead vocals on many of their hit records including oldies favorites I Will Always Think About You and Things I’d Like To Say.

ArtReach Educational Theatre in partnership with Spotlite Theatrix Production Company is staging “Legally Blonde” the musical Aug. 3-5 at the Meadows Center Auditorium, 2850 W. Golf Road, Rolling Meadows.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3; 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4 and 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5. Tickets are $16 advance and $18 at the door. Call (630) 808-5852. Reservations are recommended; group discounts available.
