Will County Board Primaries: Some Incumbents Ousted
Meanwhile, candidates in the sheriff, treasurer and regional superintendent of education races were all unopposed.

As of just before 10 p.m., all Will County precincts had been reported, revealing the winners of countywide and county board races. Along with the primaries for governor, attorney general, Congressional seats and other statewide races, numerous major primaries happened here in Will County.
While the Will County Clerk's race saw a battle between two Democrats, the Will County Sheriff and county treasurer also appeared on the ballot with uncontested races in each party. Meanwhile, only the Democrats slated a candidate for regional superintendent of education. Will County board races are a mixed bag, with some uncontested candidates and a few seats with multiple party members vying for a spot on the November ballot.

Here are the results for those seeking the nomination for the Will County board race in November. Candidates are listed in the order in which they appear on the Will County Clerk's website. Results do not become official until April 10.

- Lauren Staley-Ferry of Joliet, Democrat – 59.8%
- Denise Mushro-Rumchak of Crest Hill, Democrat – 40.2%
Will County Treasurer (uncontested)
- Incumbent Steve Weber, of Mokena, Republican – 100%
Will County Regional Superintendent of Schools (uncontested)
- Incumbent Shawn Walsh, Elwood, Democrat – 100%

Board Member District 1: Incumbent Judy Ogalla was the lone Republican, assuring herself a spot on the November ballot. On the Democrat side, incumbent Laurie Summers and Bob Howard appeared to have taken the win with all precincts reporting.

Board Member District 2: Democrat Amanda Koch was unopposed in her primary, while Frankfort Republicans Keith Ogle and Republican Jim Moustis appear victorious in theirs, ousting incumbent Cory Singer off the November ballot.

Board Member District 9: Lone Republican Annette Parker, an incumbent, was uncontested, while Democrats Rachel Ventura and Jim Murphy got the nod for their party.

Board member District 11: Republicans Kathy Havel and Julie Ann Burkowicz, both of Naperville, scored victories for their party, while Democrat Michelle "Mimi" Cowan was unopposed. The results take incumbents Chuck Maher and Suzanne Hart out of the running for November.
