District 200 To Review 1:1 Technology Program For Elementary Students, Discuss Next Steps (patch.com) — Parents and residents in Wheaton's District 200 can weigh in Wednesday as the school board reviews its 1:1 Chromebook program for elementary students and considers how technology, reading, and math curricula will evolve. The public meeting at the School Service Center will cover Bookworms and PACE reading initiatives, Illustrative Mathematics, and whether devices should go home with younger students, with an emphasis on gathering family feedback.
   

2. DuPage County Sheriff's Office 1st In State To Bring IGNITE Program To Inmates (patch.com) — Wheaton-area residents will see a new approach to rehabilitation as the DuPage County Sheriff's Office becomes the first in Illinois to launch the IGNITE education program for inmates. Through a partnership with JUST of DuPage, the jail will offer GED and college-level classes, life-skills training, and vocational certifications aimed at reducing misconduct and recidivism while supporting long-term success after release.
   

3. September 23, 2026 – Memorial of Saint Pius of Pietrelcina (Padre Pio) (wordpress.com) — Tonight you can join Bishop Spies, Fr. Burke, and hundreds of others for Behold, a candlelight adoration service under the stars at the DuPage County Courthouse campus in Wheaton, starting at 7 p.m. The daily reflection on Padre Pio and discipleship accompanies a full schedule at St. Isaac Jogues, but the Wheaton gathering offers a rare chance to pray and sing together outdoors in the heart of town. Bring a chair, blanket, and a friend.
   

4. Judith Anne Grady (threeriverspublishing.com) — Longtime former Wheaton resident Judith Anne (Strahl) Grady, who once volunteered at DuPage Care Center and worked with local school and housing agencies, has died at 84. Her life took her from Chicago and Wheaton to retirement in Missouri and winters in Florida, and she is remembered by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.
