Police: Death of Man Found in Wheaton Park Considered Suicide

Wheaton police confirmed the death of a 42-year-old man who was found Briar Patch Park Tuesday is being considered a suicide, Suburban Life Publications reports.

Matthew Fruehe, 42, of Wheaton, was found unresponsive at the park, which is located in the 1700 block of Briar Cliff Boulevard, after police and fire officials were called to the location at about 6:42 a.m. Tuesday, according to a DuPage County Coroner’s Office press release.

Fruehe was pronounced dead at 6:53 a.m.

The coroner’s office has scheduled an examination for Wednesday. The death remains under investigation.
