Wheaton Public Library Closed Amid Coronavirus Concerns
The library also canceled programs and activities until June 1.

WHEATON, IL — As many schools and restaurants throughout Illinois remain closed amid fears over new coronavirus, the Wheaton Public Library has announced it, too, will temporarily shut its doors. The closure, effective Monday, will be in effect until further notice.
According to city officials, the outside return area is blocked and residents should not try to return books. The library has extended due dates on all materials until June 1 and no fees will be charged for overdue books while the library is closed.

Wheaton library cards have also been renewed through March 31 and that date might be extended so patrons are able to access ebooks and other online resources. The library has also canceled events and programs until June 1.

DuPage County declared a state of disaster Monday after a nursing home patient in Willowbrook was confirmed to have the coronavirus. As of Thursday morning, 46 cases of coronavirus had been confirmed at the nursing home.
As fears over coronavirus lead to restaurant closures and increased social distancing, the DuPage County Courthouse has suspended all criminal and civil cases through April 17. Weddings and civil ceremonies have been rescheduled through April 24.
