Car Stolen From Gas Station Patron; 3 Charged With DUI: Blotters
Incidents and arrests from the Glencoe, Northfield and Winnetka police blotters from Nov. 14 to Nov. 20.

WINNETKA, IL — The following information comes from the Glencoe, Winnetka and Northfield police departments as a record of police activity and incidents reported to the police. Criminal charges represent merely accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Anyone arrested is innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
WINNETKA
INCIDENTS
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A resident in the 800 block of Auburn Road reported that someone damaged several sections of their fence between midnight and 6 a.m. on Nov. 11 that would cost an estimated $1,000 to repair.
IDENTITY THEFT
An Elm Street resident reported that someone used their personal information between Oct. 16 and Nov. 13 to open up a credit account at a store and make several unauthorized purchases for a loss of more than $1,500. The resident's password was changed on an account at another store where an additional unauthorized purchase was rejected.

BURGLARY ATTEMPT
Staff at the train station reported that someone had unsuccessfully tried to gain access access to a cash register through a retractable steel gate between 11 a.m. on Nov. 14 and 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 15.
CAR BURGLARY
A resident in the 1000 block of Tower Court reported that someone got into a locked car sometime between 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 16 and 8 a.m. on Nov. 17 and stole a backpack containing an iPad and a bracelet for a loss of nearly $1,750. There was no sign of forced entry.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A resident in the 1400 block of Asbury Avenue reported that someone did $1,000 in damage to a portion of a driveway fence between 11 p.m. on Nov. 17 and 6:30 a.m. on Nov. 18.
STOLEN CAR
Between 6:35 and 6:40 p.m. on Nov. 18, someone stole a car from the BP gas station at 1025 Tower Road. The vehicle had been left unlocked with the keys inside. The vehicle was later recovered on Nov. 21 in the 14500 block of South Union in south suburban Riverdale.
ARRESTS
A 24-year-old Kenilworth man was arrested shortly after 1 p.m. on Nov. 15 near the intersection of Green Bay and Tower roads and charged with driving with a suspended license. He was also issued a citation for improper display of license plates.
Tomas Castillo-Flores, 46, of the 5600 block of West 35th Street, Cicero, was arrested around 7 a.m. on Nov. 18 near the intersection of Sheridan Road and Elder Lane and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more. He was also cited for improper parking on the roadway after officers found him sleeping behind the wheel of his car.

INCIDENTS
SCAM ATTEMPT
An Old Elm Lane resident reported on the afternoon of Nov. 16 that someone had contacted them to ask to withdraw $5,000 in cash from the back in order to purchase Google gift cards for an unspecified reason. The resident withdrew the money but did not send any money to the suspected scammer.
IDENTITY THEFT
A Jefferson Avenue resident reported on the morning of Nov. 18 that someone had applied for a credit card using their social security number. The request was blocked by the credit card company.
SCAM ATTEMPT
A Mary Street resident reported on the afternoon of Nov. 19 that they had gotten an email requesting to change their direct deposit account to a fictitious account. The resident contacted both their employer and the bank and did not incur any monetary loss.
ARRESTS
A 49-year-old Chicago man was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license following a traffic stop around 10:15 p.m. on Nov. 15 in the area of Dundee Road and Skokie Boulevard. He was also ticketed for lacking a proper light on his rear license plate.
William P. Weir, 23, of the 100 block of Park Avenue, Wilmette, was arrested shortly before 2 a.m. on Nov. 16 in the 1000 block of Edgebrook Lane and charged with driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs after police responded to an illegally parked vehicle. He was also issued a parking ticket and citations for possession of drug paraphernalia and less than 10 grams of cannabis.
A 20-year-old Oak Lawn man was pulled over around 2 a.m. on Nov. 17 in the 100 block of Green Bay Road and issued citations for possession of less than 2.5 grams of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and not having a rear license plate light.
A 30-year-old Chicago man was stopped by police around 3:45 a.m. on Nov. 17 near the intersection of Dundee Road and the Edens Expressway and issued citations for possession of less than 2.5 grams of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and improper lane usage.
James K. Law, 57, of the 300 block of Woodlawn Avenue in Glencoe, was arrested shortly after 2 a.m. on Nov. 19 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater. He was also ticketed for driving in a turn lane.
A 19-year-old Chicago man was issued an ordinance violation notice around 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 20 in the area of Park and Vernon avenues for soliciting within the village of Glencoe without a permit.
NORTHFIELD
INCIDENTS
IDENTITY THEFT
A Latrobe Avenue resident reported on the evening of Nov. 13 that someone had opened up several credit card accounts using their name.
CHECK FRAUD
Someone used the name of a business that employs a Northfield resident to write several fraudulent checks for unspecified amounts, police were told on the afternoon of Nov. 14.
DOOR KNOCKING
A resident in the area of the 1600 block of Mount Pleasant Street reported around noon on Nov. 18 that a suspicious person was going around the neighborhood knocking on doors. Police found a neighbor collecting signatures for nominating positions to run for local elected office.
ARRESTS
A 26-year-old Arlington Heights man was arrested around 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 12 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Willow Road. He was also issued a citation for speeding 16 mph above the limit.
A 34-year-old Chicago man was arrested around 4:30 a.m. on Nov. 16 and charged with driving with a revoked license following a traffic stop in the area of Willow Road and Bristol Street. He was also ticketed for driving with only one operational headlight.
A 25-year-old Vernon Hills man was arrested around 4:45 p.m. on Nov. 17 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop in the 400 block of Central Avenue. He was also issued a citation for speeding 18 mph above the speed limit.
