• Battered Bicycle: Winnetka, Glencoe Crime Blotters (patch.com) — Recent reports from Winnetka police include minor damage to a parked bicycle, an identity theft case involving a fraudulent credit card, and several traffic-related arrests. Glencoe officers also handled multiple license and insurance violations, giving residents a snapshot of the kinds of incidents local departments are addressing this month. 
• Winnetka moving to ease permitting process (therecordnorthshore.org) — Winnetka officials are moving toward longer building-permit timelines and lower extension fees for new single-family homes, but they still want changes before a final vote. Trustees backed 18- and 24-month permits and scrapped a proposed rebate, while asking staff to study how similar rules might apply to major home renovations around town.
