Eat Burgers, Raise Money for the District 99 Education Foundation
Eat at Tom & Eddie's from Nov. 4 to Nov. 12 to raise proceeds for Downers Grove North and South High Schools.

in Lombard is hosting a nine-day fundraiser for the foundation from Nov. 4 to Nov. 12.

The gourmet burger restaurant will donate 10 percent of net sales from customers who mention District 99 or have a flyer during the nine days. Why nine? There are nine signature burgers on the menu and, at Tom & Eddie’s, everything is done by the “nines,'" according to a press release from Tom & Eddie's.
Direct Action student group will assist with serving at Tom & Eddies on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 4 and 5, while Key Club members will serve on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 11 and 12.

“Tom & Eddie’s is just so great for the community,” said Martha Merilos, vice president of the foundation in the release. “They approached us for this fundraiser, and we are all thrilled.”
Tom & Eddie's is located in the Shops on Butterfield at 348 Yorktown Shopping Center.
District 99 encompasses Downers Grove High Schools North and South, and the foundation’s motto is to “…enhance education with enrichment," according to a release.
"The organization has raised and disbursed thousands of dollars in 'learner grants' to North and South high-school teachers for projects outside of standard budgets. Past grants helped supply extra equipment for the photography department and resources to create a healing garden that is accessible to disabled students."
