Meadowview Partners in Reading Club Meeting

Partners in Reading is a book club in which parents read the same book (in either English or Spanish) with their third to fifth grade children, then meet for discussion and planned activities.

Melissa Love, Meadowview’s LRC Director, and Violeta R. Gamez, ESL Teacher, wanted to develop a reading program to encourage students to read for enjoyment. They were also looking for ways to encourage parents to read with their children. After tossing around a few ideas, they came up with the Parent/Child Book Club.

Parents and students will discuss "Esperanza Rising" and do fun activities at the Feb. 16 meeting.
