Marching Mustangs Take 1st in Class at University of Illinois Competition

The band has one more competition before the end of the 2011 season.

The Marching Mustangs took first place in their class Saturday at the Illini Marching Band Championships competition in Champaign, IL.

The Marching Mustangs were also awarded Caption Awards for Best Auxiliary, Best Music and Best Visual in their class.

The Marching Mustangs are classified as 6A and competed against Oak Park River Forest High School, Carl Sandburg High School, Waubonsie Valley High School, Fremd High School and Neuqua Valley High School. 

There's only one contest remaining in the Marching Mustangs' competition season. The group will compete at the ISU State of Illinois Marching Band Championships in Bloomington, IL, Oct. 29.

The Marching Mustangs hope to have a flawless performance in the preliminary round and advance intothe finals competition again this year.
