North's Class of 2011: It was a Very Good Year

"It's a time for joy, a time for tears, a time we'll treasure through the years. We'll remember always Graduation Day." - The Lettermen

So what were the high points of senior year for the North High School Class of 2011? Let's start with the fun stuff.

The  inspired wild creativity and wholesome competition, not to mention dazzling feats of athletic prowess as the even kicked off Homecoming Week for the Trojans. The sun also shone on the , a tradition that goes back to 1953.

There were several athletic high points this year, including stellar performances by  and , badminton player, harriers ,, and DGN record-setting rusher In addition to some of the aforementioned seniors, pitchers and  will be taking their games to college.

North athletes also showed top form off the playing field, as they strutted the catwalk and raised scholarship funds at the DGN Booster Club's 

Other seniors also brought glory and honor to North, including members of , participants in  and medalists in the FaStudents also received national art awards. 

The Class of 2011 also racked up some impressive academic awards. Seven were named  and the displayed an amazing range of accomplishments. 

Artistic accomplishment was also on display this year, by which performed in London's New Year's Day Parade, and by the actors and crew members who brought two major theatrical productions,  and to the Clarence Johnson Auditorium stage. 

Finally, is there a better bookend to senior year than prom? The fun and excitement started with some and concluded with in Chicago.
