Police: Men Steal $1,000 Copper from Home Depot
The men paid for a Rubbermaid container — but not the $1,000 worth of copper inside, police said.

Two men were charged with retail theft after attempting to steal more than $1,000 worth of copper pieces from the 75th Street Home Depot in Darien on Sept. 6, said.
Security saw Tadd H. Green, 27, of the 3100 block of Whispering Oaks in Woodridge, and Matthew S. Urbana, 24, of the 600 block of Kensington Way in Bolingbrook, take the copper from cardboard boxes and put it in a Rubbermaid container, police said.
The men then paid only for the container and left the store before being arrested by Darien police around 10:25 a.m., according to the report.
